The sea
Poem in French ©1985
A family that loves the sea

Sitting next to the river,
My grandfather,
Waits for the fish,
Alone with nature,

Surrounded with budding leaves,
All the while listening,
From afar,
To the magic song of the sea.

My mother once told me
that she came
From the lower St-Lawrence,
In other words, from the sea.
